Activity Description

You are invited to join us for Family Volunteer Day presented by H-E-B!
Family Volunteer Day is a chance for your family to participate in hands-on service projects that benefit a variety of local nonprofits and learning about the different ways you can support the community. Projects are appropriate for youth ages 3-18. Family Volunteer Day takes place at the Austin Central Library and is our way of celebrating a national day of service! Come curious and leave inspired!
9 to 5 Book Drive, Celebrating Dolly Parton
Drop off a new or gently loved children's book at Family Volunteer Day and be part of something bigger than one afternoon. Every book collected will go to BookSpring, one of Generation SERVE's community partners, which works to get books into the hands of local kids. Dolly Parton is known for her lifelong love of butterflies, books and giving back. In her honor, every book you donate becomes a small wingbeat: one story that can spark a child's imagination, build their love of reading and ripple out across our community. For this event, we are collecting only board books, children’s picture books and youth chapter books for BookSpring.
